TransmogOlympics!

All hail a new contest--the Mogolympics! Brought to you by JD Kenada over at Amateur Azerothian.

Seeing that the deadline is at the end of the month, and that it can be done using Mogit or WMV, I figured I'd have ample time to join and actually turn in something good (by my standards).

JD randomly chose who the participants would represent, and I got Arathor. Seeing as I had no clue what faction this was (though it is fitting since my main 'toons are all on the realm of Arathor), I did a bit of research and discovered The League of Arathor, which is a PvP alliance faction in Arathi Highlands.

Ok. So. I don't PvP really, I don't play alliance really, and I have never seen this faction really. Hahaha, joke's on me! Luckily, the lore behind the faction we are representing is not necessary to know, other than what their tabard/colors are to create a "Flagbearer", which will not be able to win any medals anyway.

Without further ado... Meet (from left) Qwinn Sparkplug, Verity Dewhurst and Ella Sparkplug, the cheerleaders of Arathor's competitors, live from Trollbane Hall in Arathi Highlands.

"As the games prepare to open, this lively trio cheers on their team from afar so the locals feel more connected and part of the bigger picture. Team spirit is high as the twins shake their sparkle wands, with Verity towering over them, offering prayers of shadow protection and fortitude to the athletes." ~Ezekial Summerset, Channel 12 Stormwind News.
Featured above:
Qwinn: Death Speaker Mantle, Sylvanaar Elite Caster's Armor, Akama's Sash, Leggings of Eternity, Saltarello Shoes, Consortium Gloves, Wand of Eternal Light, Arathor Battle Tabard.
Verity: Crown of the Sea Witch, Mantle of the Avatar, Aurora Armor, Akama's Sash, Replica Virtuous Skirt, Bloodscalp Sandals, Sterile Flesh-Handling Gloves, Mistyreed Torch, Arathor Battle Tabard.
Ella: Death Speaker Mantle, Sylvanaar Elite Caster's Armor, Akama's Sash, Leggings of Eternity, Saltarello Shoes, Slavehandler Wristguards, Mystral Handwraps, Elementalist Star, Arathor Battle Tabard.

Incidentally, here are the "details" we were handed with regards to this, our first entry:

"The first outfit will be for your country. Well, in this case it’s your faction and you are creating your “flagbearer”. Upon confirming your entry, I will randomly assign you the faction you’re representing for the games. So if you receive Sporeggar, your flagbearer’s outfit would include their tabard. Let me clarify, though, this is the only outfit where you’re required to use the colours of your faction. This is also for appearance only, there’s no medal for this portion of the Mogolympics."

The rules/details are as follows:
  • 9 competition outfits.  At least 5 different races must be used, never repeating the same gender/race combo (if you use Blood Elf Male for Javelin, you can’t make a Blood Elf Male for Discus.  You could however make it female so long as you aren’t submitting a Blood Elf Female in any other event).  Your flagbearer combo may be used in a competition event.
  • Your event entry must be able to use the outfit as a proper end-game transmog (so no Gnomes in Shaman gear or Goblin Rogues entering the discus)
  • Include the gear you used for each outfit please (the judges can peg many articles from in-game, but can’t always tell what everything is).
  • All entries are to be submitted at once.  Send the screenshots to @gmail.com
  • As per Mog Madness, MogIt and ModelViewer entries are welcome.
  • We’ll reveal three events a week for three weeks, beginning August 12th.  Medals will be handed out accordingly.
  • I have set no criteria for fellow judges (still confirming who the official judges will be).  They will simply give their rankings based on their own thoughts.  However, they’ll not know who they’re voting on (it will be labelled as Outfit D, rather than “Tome,” for example).
  • The winner will have received the most medals in the nine events.
